Getting back into the swing of things has been great for Karen and I. We’re recording once more and lining up great guests for the show! This show, however, does not have a guest! It is Karen and I talking about one of the most important things ever: raiding. Karen and I break down what we liked in EverQuest and EverQuest II and make some suggestions about what SOE can do with EverQuest Next! We also do some rapid fire “you make the call” questions and talk about a very special visit! Speaking of which, we’re running out of questions More >
Karen and I have returned after the summer hiatus! With all of our traveling and con going it has been hard to get the show put together. We’re not going anywhere, however, and we returned with a fairly decent show about what we’ve been up to!
- Where have we been?
- What happened at Fan Faire and Dragon Con?
- EverQuest II Extended thoughts!
- You make the call!
- Adam is making a sales pitch? Lame!
We would like to shout out to Green Armadillo, Chris from Game by Night, the SOE community staff, and several other people who deserve some love! We’ll step back in soon with More >
At Fan Faire 2010 Karen and I had the pleasure of sitting down with a panel of guild leaders. We used the time to discuss topics that are important to them and pose some questions. The room was a bit noisy but we really had a lot of fun and the recording came out quite well. As Fan Faire is a cross game convention we were also lucky enough to get a good mix of player types and games. Despite our differences we found that many of our problems were quite similar. It made for an extremely interesting show!

When we were at Fan Faire 2010 Karen and I sat down to do a couple of podcasts. The first we planned in advance with some other guild leaders and that went very well. The second was an unexpected surprise by Calthine of Zam! She brought Paul “Frizznik” Carrico, SOE’s Lead Mechanics Designer, over to talk to us and he was an exceptional guest. On episode 15 we discuss a few different aspects of EverQuest II, the upcoming Velious expansion, and even a little about EQ2 Extended. Take a moment to listen to Frizznik’s thoughts on the game. Enjoy this More >
We’ve been on a roll with you guys sending in mail! We’ve also been receiving comments on our answers and that is also quite awesome! Karen and I just really want to thank you all for participating and we really want that to continue. Keep sending questions. Keep following up! Keep us in business. For every question we get Karen won’t kill a kitten. We’ve really enjoyed doing the shows with your questions and will continue to do so as long as you keep sending them. Tell your friends!
- As always, what have we been doing? You’re right, EQ2. It More >
On Episode 13 of a View from the Top Karen assists me in picking the winners for the Epic Fallen Earth Contest I hosted on Epic Slant! One of the methods of entry was to submit a question for our show and you guys truly delivered! We received a mountain of entries that were hilarious and/or interesting. For this show we decided to invest some serious time in answering the questions. I want to thank everyone who participated and congratulate everyone that won! Look for more contests in the future!
- What have we been up to? Here is a hint, More >
On this episode of a View from the Top we were pleased to have Morgan Feldon of EQ2 Wire as our guest. He has a lot of insight into Karen and I’s favorite game, EverQuest 2. We tackle some great guild related issues and spend a lot of time discussing our MMORPG of choice. Come and listen to us speculate about the next expansion, itemization and even a little class balance!
- We take a moment to talk about what we’ve been playing while Adam rudely eats. I thought we were over that!
- Morgan has been spending time with both EQ2 and single More >
Karen and I have asked, begged and pleaded for listener questions and feedback. You guys delivered beautifully and we quickly started to fall behind on answering it. To get us caught up we decided to do a mail bag episode and answer everything we had! That also means that we now need more letters! Please get to it! Submit your questions and we shall answer them on the air! In the mean time we answered some of the most well thought out and put together letters ever. The careful thought that went into each one made us quite happy so More >
I’m extremely pleased to announce our first mile-stone show, Episode 10! For this special episode of a View from the Top Karen sent her call out across the Atlantic to reach me in Germany and our guest, Mike Emeny, in the UK! It is truly an international episode and one of the finest we’ve done. Mike is a World of Warcraft guild leader, a fellow pod-caster, and an all around interesting guest. Join us and listen to his explanation of how he took his guild from barely casual to quite successful. It is a story that you don’t want to More >
Karen and I have been insanely busy lately so we haven’t had a lot of time to record or edit! We recorded this show a while back and a lot has happened since then! That said I’m pleased to offer an episode that went quite well. We didn’t have a guest but we took some time to really talk about what is going on in EverQuest 2 and offer some good advice for the guilds that are out there. Come and enjoy a .5 episode with us while we prepare our super exciting episode 10!
