You know what is frozen, delicious and available in your grocery store’s frozen dog food section? Frosty Paws and Jeff thinks they are delicious despite certain Yahoo! users thinking that the treat contains cancer causing agents. Aside from talking about frozen dog food the crew gets into it about Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, some stuff Fozzy was playing, Alan Wake, Sonic Colors, The 3rd Birthday, Dungeon Siege and a little bit of Scream. In news they discuss GeoHotz and Sony’s settlement, initial sales of the 3DS and the reported rumor of the Wii 2, which spawns some heated discussion. And of course the close it all in the letters section where the guys tackle some in depth topics including storytelling in games and the difference between JRPGs and WRPGs.

The Perfectly Sane Show Volume 2 – Episode 2: Science Project

Every new show has its ups and downs and this week the crew has a bevy of issues from weird sounds, Fozzy trying to electrocute himself, and some editing issues Chris would rather not discuss anymore. They also manage to talk about Bayonetta, mold, Deadly Premonition, Lara Croft, Piranha 3D, Cop Out, Shank, Scott Pilgrim: The Game before heading into an awkward news segment where Tony and Fozzy literally stop paying attention as Jeff and Chris discuss The Walking Dead. The main topic of the show though is our most anticipated games of Holiday 2010, which oddly enough starts next week. We cover everything from Halo: Reach (the resounding consensus for most anticipated game) as well as talk a bit about Fallout: New Vegas, The Sims 3, Epic Mickey and a couple shooters from the two biggest publishers going.

Anticipation

This year has been a bit of an oddity, what with high quality games being delivered throughout the year. The last few weeks have actually seen me not purchase much of anything new (aside from the downloadable Lara Croft game) but the slight drought is about to end. For some the Holiday gaming season officially will kick off next week with the release of Metroid: Other M but for a large sum of us the real kick off will be when Microsoft sets loose its 5-ton gorilla, Halo: Reach. Regardless of where you stand on the Halo anticipation scale, it is hard to deny that from September 14th to mid November some of the biggest games of the year will be releasing.

The Perfectly Sane crew is set to talk about what we are looking forward to (and why) but I want to know what you guys are looking forward to. So leave some comments down below and let me know what you are looking forward to and why and I will read some of them on during the recording tomorrow.

Two shows in one week? Sure and welcome to our weekly deployment zone. Barring any issues we should have a new episode for you every Friday. This week, without everyone’s favorite non-royal Persian, we get into Mafia II, Lara Croft, NHL 11, Dexter, Scott Pilgrim as well as an assortment of news and (probably wrong) opinions including Bioshock: Infinite, the Star Wars trilogy on Blu Ray, Brett Favre, Warhammer 40K: Generic Title for a Game and Tony and Chris eat some crow based on their commentary that Mass Effect 2 would never come to the PS3 (damn you EA). PAX ended nearly two weeks ago but that doesn’t mean I cannot bring it back. Episode 15 is the audio that we recorded while at the PAX East panel, The Death of Print. It was a great panel and hopefully you will be able to stomach the awful audio feed (I did my best to clean it up and amplify it) to pick up on some excellent conversation.
