What do you get when you take faulty equipment and a bunch of drunks to Boston?

Episode 31 of The Perfectly Sane Show of course. In this special on the road episode, the guys (all together in the same room) are joined by a menagerie of guests to talk about why PAX is the best convention going, a whole tray of game, Kate Winslet’s boobs and their favorite movies of the year… yeah don’t ask. The audio quality is quite terrible and you probably should not listen to the show with headphones for fear of your ears bleeding but if you do give it a listen there is some really great conversation somewhere behind all the nonsense.

Fozzy was missing in action for most of the week, fortunately he escaped from his captors and was able to sit down and do the show with us. This week we talk a little bit about Little Big Planet 2 but mostly focus on news including the 3DS details, Microsoft and Sony security, and “The Dark Knight Rises” casting reveals before answering a handful of questions about Final Fantasy XIII-2.

In an effort to help with some potential download problems Chris tried something different with the compression this week, let us know if you have any DL issues or if the show sounds a bit off this week.

While Jeff goes on a hot date, the rest of the crew kidnaps Walter Lopez(aka snakpack), the Worldwide Community Manager for Direct 2 Drive, and force him to talk about games including what may be the biggest release of the year World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. They also talk some more Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Fable III, Singularity, Metro 2033 and Amnesia: The Dark Descent before Walter schools us on the ways of the MMO and why they are cool and we should play them. We also discuss some news, like the death of handhelds, the Uncharted movie going on hold, and XBOX Live annoyances not bothering real soldiers, as well as answering listener mail and making some football picks (put after the close on account of a whiny little leprechaun :) ).

First person to tell Chris via Twitter what game the opening for this week was from gets a DCUO beta code courtesy of Direct 2 Drive.

OK that is a lie as Jeff is the only drinking but everything seems less coherent as Fozzy and Chris are both sick. This week the guys quickly mourn the sudden loss of Tony to a lightning strike, talk more about Halo: Reach, touch on Sonic the Hedgehog, Beat Hazard, cover some news, make their NFL picks and answer a questions about bad game titles and hallucinogenic drugs. Enjoy.
