The Multiverse – Episode #22: “The Greenest Grass is Always Lego”
on July 21st, 2010 at 5:40 amHappy Hump Day Folks!
We’re back this week with the much delayed Episode 22 of The Multiverse: MMO Radio. We first tried this show back on the ninth – right before real names on the forums got canceled – but, as luck would have it, my hard drive crashed and the show was lost. But, intrepid podcaster and great friend Ferrel stepped up to host our return!
This week, we took a pass on the Real ID topic. Well, mostly. We don’t really talk about it but there’s a little segment at the end Ferrel didn’t want to let fade into the internet obscurity. Instead, we talk about the slew of upcoming MMOs 2010 and ’11 promise to bring us. Is a play or not play show and I have to say that I the my co-hosts surprised me more than once.
Oh, fair warning, there may be an explitive at the end of the show. I had it noted and was ready to cover it with a great chicken impression from Ferrel but, for the life of me, I couldn’t find it again. It was somewhere around our conversation about Legos. Yeah, we cussed during the most childlike portion of the show. Sometimes, when you’re feeling like a kid, you need to feel like a bad kid. Just saying.
Anyhow, the show will get censored and re-uploaded. But, for now, we give you Episode 22.
Enjoy!

FYI, the LOTRO number was a misunderstanding on the part of the reporter – it was 200K signups for the non-paid beta, not 200 paying subscriptions. Still a relatively impressive mark for a 3 year old game.
Personally, I don’t really worry about jumping on new titles just to keep up with the blogroll. I was there for the disappointing Warhammer launch, and sat out the equally disappointing FOTM launches of Aion and CO/STO. If a game is worth playing, it’ll be around in a few months.
Hey guys, another fun episode and I really appreciate the re-cap of the games as it gave me a few more to keep an eye on
One thing I wanted to clarify – the 200K number I posted on with regards to the LOTRO subscribers is actually 200K beta applicants as opposed to 200K new subscribers like the article I quoted originally stated. The original story was 200K subscribers but I guess I wasn’t clear enough to say that initial report was corrected later on by Turbine, so I apologize for the confusion. I think this is still a huge jump in interest, but not quite the big news that 200K subscribers would be.
haha – guess I wasn’t fast enough
I spent 6 hours in the car today so I’m almost totally caught up on my podcasts and this was my first chance to post.
Ah-ha! That explains it but definitely still impressive. We’ll clarify that in tonight’s recording. Thanks for letting us know guys!

Thanks for the shout out.
I did reflect later in the show that I got 30 seconds and Edward from Twilight got 30 minutes. Now I can see that I might be 60 times less interesting than Edward to teenage girls but to you guys? Cmon!
