Retrocore #54

Today’s show was a little bit different from our other shows. On Side A we just went right on into reviews as usual, but Side B was new to our show. I took various unreleased clips from random shows and played some of them. Some are actual good informative clips while others lean towards the more humorous side. I hope you guys enjoy and if this goes over well expect some more of these clips in the future!

Side A:
Quake review by Colin (PC)
Bloodrayne Betrayal review by Chris (PSN/PS3)

Side B: Bonus Clips
App Revist: We talk about previous “Apps of the week” that have updated. Pix n Love Rush and Kami Retro
Don’s (Sobaer) Password Story: Don asks for a old password and Chris “gives” it to him.
GTA Mario Kart and Nintendo Rant: Colin shares an idea of a Mario Kart MMO and we rant about Nintendo.
Colin doesn’t know: During his Quake review, there was about a minute where Colin couldn’t hear me.
Closing: We come back as usual with some Twitter questions.

For the second half of the show (Side B) Colin and I went about our usual antics and reviewed some games, including an “App of the Week.” We may have also rambled on about Square-Enix’s reveal of Dragon Quest X. Thank you all for listening and the support!!

Today’s show is another that is not so retro. We further discussed the cancellation of Megaman Legends 3 and the future of Megaman. Chris reviewed a great DS game that any Mario or RPG fan can appreciate and is the closest we’ll get to a true Mario RPG sequel. For the topic we was joined by Sobaer for the great debate,”Is mobile gaming killing off handhelds?” Hope you guys enjoy the show and as always keep it retro! ;)

Retrocore #49 Side B (E3 Special)

On today’s show we had with us Lord and Master of Vagary.tv, Ryan.  He shared with us his adventures to the magical land E3.  Colin and I decided to do a special E3 follow up show since in our last episode we had our own E3 predictions. Colin nailed it with his predictions of the Wii U control pad.  Thank you all for listening and I hope you enjoy this special episode of Retrocore.

Disclaimer: This show was recorded Saturday Night 5/14/11 so information might seem dated. Also, I know I’ve already used the Double Dragon 3 commercial. Sorry about that.

Are you guys ready to hear the tale of the “Super Happy Tree?” How about some “Tron” if you will? Of course I’m talking about Yoshi’s Story for the N64 and a free app called Light Bike Free. Colin and I also wrapped up the topic about the PSN. You won’t hear anything else about it on this show unless its some big news. I hope you guys enjoy the topic as there’s some weird gaming stuff out there. I’ll share the links with you below. :)

App of the Week: Light Bike Free
Socket (Genesis) – Colin
Yoshi’s Story (N64) – Chris

Retrocore #47 (Rantrocore)

This show did have a basic structure, and even a topic.  But all was lost when we decided to talk about the whole PSN (Playstation Network) fiasco.  I know we are a retro podcast, but that doesn’t mean we don’t play new games here and there, and we do keep up with current gaming news.  The topic of “Fan Remakes” got pushed back to another time as we then started talking about Nintendo and their new console, among other small topics.  We did however get the App of the Week in and a review so not all was lost. :)

App of the Week: Radiant

Jaws – NES

As promised, we are still back and bring you a more structured show!! This show basically followed the same format as the last, with the App of the week, some reviews, and our topic of Arcades in the 80′s. It basically turned into Chris nostalging about the good ol’ days of Arcades cause as we all know, they are a joke today. ;(

App of the Week: KAMI Retro

Reviews: Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure (SNES) – Chris

Diddy Kong Racing (N64) – Colin
