Every new show has its ups and downs and this week the crew has a bevy of issues from weird sounds, Fozzy trying to electrocute himself, and some editing issues Chris would rather not discuss anymore. They also manage to talk about Bayonetta, mold, Deadly Premonition, Lara Croft, Piranha 3D, Cop Out, Shank, Scott Pilgrim: The Game before heading into an awkward news segment where Tony and Fozzy literally stop paying attention as Jeff and Chris discuss The Walking Dead. The main topic of the show though is our most anticipated games of Holiday 2010, which oddly enough starts next week. We cover everything from Halo: Reach (the resounding consensus for most anticipated game) as well as talk a bit about Fallout: New Vegas, The Sims 3, Epic Mickey and a couple shooters from the two biggest publishers going.

Halo clip mentioned in show is available here.

Two shows in one week? Sure and welcome to our weekly deployment zone. Barring any issues we should have a new episode for you every Friday. This week, without everyone’s favorite non-royal Persian, we get into Mafia II, Lara Croft, NHL 11, Dexter, Scott Pilgrim as well as an assortment of news and (probably wrong) opinions including Bioshock: Infinite, the Star Wars trilogy on Blu Ray, Brett Favre, Warhammer 40K: Generic Title for a Game and Tony and Chris eat some crow based on their commentary that Mass Effect 2 would never come to the PS3 (damn you EA). So sit back, crank your speakers and enjoy.

This new iteration of The Perfectly Sane Show has a new cast, including the great Tony Odett, Jeff Derrickson, and Cyrus Fayazi and this week the crew talks some smack on their favorite games and movies of the year thus far. This Episode 0 is just a taste of what we have planned for the show, so sit back and give us a shot with this special electric zero episode edition of The Perfectly Sane Show.

Special Note: The original cast is not dead and buried. Some of them will be joining us in later episodes to discuss certain topics, games, movies, sports, whatever else pops into our little minds at the moment. This is just a new direction with hopefully more consistent insanity.

The Perfectly Sane Show – Episode 16: Page 63

Posted by RyanK On April - 9 - 2010

Back by popular demand (OK like two people asked for it) for the first time in a long time the entire Perfectly Sane Show cast is here. The crew sits down in Jon’s living room to discuss some games and movies, we even had an outline and attempted (for about 30 seconds) to stay on topic. In this episode we talk about Kirstie Alley being a Hutt, PAX East, Sony’s motion controller, Greek gods, talk in Indian accents, Jon plays deer hunter while stroking a shaft, the new Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare 2′s map packs, Canadian Kangaroo’s, Hot Tub Time Machine, Andy wants to watch Miley Cyrus, River Phoenix, how to have sex with a monkey, the Bestiality handbook, the new Barenaked Ladies and Scorpions albums, and the 80s were awesome and Jon hates Nintendo (again).

Music in this episode:
Closer – Nine Inch Nails
Animal – Def Leppard

The Perfectly Sane Show – Episode 15

Posted by RyanK On April - 9 - 2010

PAX ended nearly two weeks ago but that doesn’t mean I cannot bring it back. Episode 15 is the audio that we recorded while at the PAX East panel, The Death of Print. It was a great panel and hopefully you will be able to stomach the awful audio feed (I did my best to clean it up and amplify it) to pick up on some excellent conversation. But if not check out the upcoming episode 16 where we discuss the the Bestiality handbook.

We’re on our way to PAX. OK so we are already here and the show ends today but this is what we talked about on our way there. I am joined by Resume Play’s Chris Reid, and Derrick Bitner better known as VirginWolf. The audio might suck, we were in my car on a portable voice recorder I bought for $35 at Walmart but the three of us are in the car crossing the Connecticut River, Oregon Trail style and we talk about games too.

Music in this episode:

I’m Shipping Up to Boston – Dropkick Murphys
Start of Something – Stone Gods

The Perfectly Sane Show – Episode 13

Posted by RyanK On March - 13 - 2010

The number 13 holds great significance for me. It is the number of my favorite football player of all time. It is the number I wore when I played soccer, hockey and baseball. It is the day when Jason comes out to kill all the promiscuous pot heads who are hanging out in his campground. And it is also the number of the latest iteration of the longstanding, and insanely popular Final Fantasy series. For this show, I am joined by Resume Play’s Chris Reid, and Tony Odett better known as Napoleon1066. The three of us sit around for an hour discussing our history with the series, JRPGs in general, and the behemoth release known as Final Fantasy XIII. We also answer some questions that might leave you scratching your head.

Music in this episode:

Battle Scene (FINAL FANTASY I) – The Black Mages
Matoya’s Cave (FINAL FANTASY I) – The Black Mages

The Perfectly Sane Show – Episode 12: The Cop Out

Posted by RyanK On March - 6 - 2010

Yeah so… Reid fell asleep when we were supposed to record and I was left with the option of doing a short a sweet show by myself or using some pre-recorded audio of Reid and I discussing the new Kevin Smith film, Cop Out immediately after leaving the theater. As the name implies, I copped out. The audio is a little janky (because it was recorded on my phone) but it gets the general point across. You can read my review of the film here, Reid says he is going to write a review. I’ll believe that when I see it.

Music in this episode:

Special Thanks to Trevor McKee and Steve Gomboc for proving the music used for the intro and outro this week.

The Perfectly Sane Show – Episode 11

Posted by RyanK On February - 27 - 2010

I’m trying to get the show on a more regular schedule and I view this Episode as the new beginning towards that. In this episode we (myself, Reid and special guest Tommy_Arashikage) talk about the latest “big” Sony release, Heavy Rain. We discuss what we like and dislike about the game remaining relatively spoiler free and we also touch on the implications that the success or failure this game may or may not have across the industry.

Music in this episode:

Rain – The Cult
Rainmaker – Iron Maiden

In this episode I have no special guests from anywhere, instead I talk for roughly 20 minutes about one game and one game only, Dante’s Inferno.

Music in this episode:

W***es of Babylon – from the Dante’s Inferno soundtrack
Redemption – from the Dante’s Inferno soundtrack
