What to Watch – January 11th Edition

If last week’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre wasn’t to your tastes, this week gives you a trio of wide releases that might pique your interest. If you are looking for an interesting docu-drama, then you have to look no further than the Oscar nominated Zero Dark Thirty, which expands to a theater near you this week. If hunting terrorists is not your thing, maybe 50s crime drama is. Sean Penn stars as famous LA gangster Mickey Cohen with Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling are cops out to shut him down. And if you are looking for a little eye candy, Emma Stone is in it as well. Finally Marlon Wayans attempts to make everyone forget about Scary Movie 3 and 4, as well as all the awful spin-offs (Date Movie, Epic Movie, Dance Movie), with A Haunted House. I’m not sure if it will be good but the trailer made me chuckle a couple times.

On the other side, there is not much going on in the realm of the small screen. Girls starts its second season on HBO, Arrow returns from its winter break, Fringe continues on its path to the end and Taken 2 arrives on Blu-Ray. There is always playoff football to cling to I guess.

What are you watching this week?
