What to Watch – October 19th Edition

This weekend’s box office releases are a mixed bag and neither are particularly spiking my interest to the point where I want to see them. The Paranormal Activity series has taken over for Saw as the yearly Halloween theater going experience and Paranormal Activity 4 is this year’s offering. PA4 hopes to bring in the audiences this year promising to wrap up the story line from the first three films. I think I’ve seen this pattern before… Needless to say, despite being a huge fan of horror, I’ll be skipping out on this year’s entry until it is available to watch at home.

For those looking for something less ghostly and ghastly at the box office, they might want to check out Alex Cross starring Tyler Perry in a role previously played by Morgan Freeman (Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider). I can’t say I am going to be rushing out to this one either.

Television premiers have slowed to a crawl but with everything in full swing now, there is plenty to watch. Notable series to check out: Once Upon a Time, The Walking Dead, Arrow, and American Horror Story: Asylum.

And on the Blu-Ray tip, we have Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Savages, which are not very good films, a 30th Anniversary Edition of Blade Runner, I, Robot starring Will Smith in 3D and the probably awful horror films 247°F and Wrong Turn 5.

All in all, television might be your best bet for pleasant viewing.

So what will you be watching this week?
