The 1980s return in a big way this week as Sylvester Stallone brings his enterouge of washed-up action hereos to the big screen with The Expendables 2. Sure, the original film had its share of problems but it was also a glorious throwback to a time where explosions, one-liners and huge amounts of charisma were king. The big draw of The Expendables 2 though is seeing Sly, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis blow crap up together. Oh and there will be major Van Damage.
If you don’t have a soft spot for cheesy action films but enjoy smartly written kids movies, then maybe the stop motion animated film Paranorman is up your alley. Both are out today and both will have reviews later this weekend on Vagary.
