I am not sure how fitness nuts do this. A month in and a lot of the competitive juice has worn off. I just want to sit down on my couch and play some games where I shoot people or watch some movies while drinking beer. But no… I continue to try and get in shape. I feel by the end of this challenge I may just be an angry, bitter person (and no jokes about how you have read my reviews and I obviously already am one).
Monday – 4 June
Trying to get into shape is great but sometimes real life gets in the way. The E3 press conferences kicked off Monday and I volunteered to cover them which made my walking numbers drop way down. I did get out for a nice chunk of walking after the Sony conference but most of the day was spent watching and writing, and eating not so great food stuffs.
Tuesday – 5 June
E3 continued and so did my work on covering them. However being as I was not at the conference, once the show opened I was able to semi-return to normal and get some walking in.
Wednesday – 6 June
I forgot to weigh in this morning, which was probably a good thing considering my diet and lack of activity the last two days. After two days of constant E3 coverage I was burned out. I did manage to get more walking in but the Kinect continued to stay off.
Thursday – 7 June
Thursday was another poor day for exercise but at least the diet was back on track.
Friday – 8 June
Morning weigh in had me down to 265.4 lbs, that is 20 lbs in 2 weeks. Spurred on by this information I spent 15 minutes playing Kinect Sports before going to see Prometheus. Nice, right?
Saturday – 9 June
Ok so after a week of lying about doing minimal exercise. I cranked it up. After getting some advice from a friend, I added a 10 lb weight to a backpack and took it on my walks to add a little resistance into the mix. It was awkward at first but ultimately I think it will be a good thing. I walked a lot and did a lot of Kinect. It felt like I had to make up for the past five days and maybe that wasn’t the best decision…
Sunday – 10 June
…because I was extra tired on Sunday. My productivity from Saturday cut down to a 1/3 and I just wanted to sit and watch television. I did get some Kinect time in and a short walk but nothing to write home about.
Week 4 recap:
The consistent weight loss is starting to become less of a motivating factor. The hard work is paying off but I feel like I don’t have time for anything else and I want to do other things. My wife will be in Arizona all this week so maybe I will spice things up by battle dancing my kids.
Week 4 Stats:
Starting Weight: 267.6 lbs
Total Walked: 67.16 miles
Total Kinect Sports played: 1.75 hours
Ending Weight: 263.9 lbs
