There was an awkward silence right before Sing was announced. Everyone was dreading/expecting Wii Music 2 and then Sing showed up and nobody was really sure what to do about it. Sing, the working title for Nintendo’s new music game, turns the Wii U into an in-living room karaoke machine. The tablet acts as a teleprompter, while the television shows it off for everyone else. This allows the singer to actually perform for an audience, something Rock Band always struggled with. Is it a game? Not really, but for people like me that would love to karaoke but do not want to embarrass themselves in front of people they don’t know, Sing is a great idea. Provided the “game” features a stellar set list, Sing could be a monster success for Nintendo.
