E3 2012: The Elder Scrolls Online Detailed

Massively multiplayer online roleplaying games are a huge risk. One needs to look no further than Star Wars: The Old Republic to see that fact. However Zenimax Online is willing to roll the dice and bring its massively popular single player RPG franchise, The Elder Scrolls, to the MMO masses. Set in the second age of Tamriel, The Elder Scrolls Online will allow players to explore the entirity of the world for the first time ever. Players will be able to visit Daggerfall, Morrowind and Skyrim and other areas as they quest through the world. One of my major fears for the game was that it would not feel expansive enough but from the looks of things, they still have that aspect in tact. The art style being utilized is certainly more stylized than previous Elder Scrolls titles, it looks like a slightly more realistic style than Kingdoms of Amalur, but what is being shown is stellar.

Not much in the way of gameplay was actually shown but the devs are boasting the ability to have 200 player dungeon raids, which seems awesome, if a tad bit excessive.
