Coming to Store: E3 Week

This week will work a little different. I didn’t run this by any of the editors, either, so.. shhhh. I’m in the midst of packing for next week’s trip to LA and am short on time. So instead, I thought I would ramble about what to expect from Vagary this week, and then briefly highlight things that are coming to store shelves.

The plan is to have some wrap-up posts and a podcast Monday, chronicling our thoughts on the Microsoft, EA and Sony keynotes (EDITOR NOTE: Evidently our team on the ground doesn’t think Ubisoft is worth discussing :/). Tuesday will be the same with Nintendo and we have a bunch of great booth appointments set up. Some to look for throughout the week are EA, 2K Games, Sony, Telltale, Konami, Namco Bandai, Indiecade, Disney, Bethesda, Zen Studios and a few others. Audio pieces, video content and of course, written content will be posted all week long, so keep checking back on a regular basis!

Kyle Baron, Vagary.TV’s Editor-in-Chief, will also be writing an amusing piece on my degrading sanity spanning the week (EDITOR NOTE: Not that he was not already crazy). Considering I am waking up at 3:30am to get ready for my flight Monday morning, it may come quicker than I originally anticipated.

Lastly, I will be posting tons of pictures on my twitter account (follow me @TheSobaer) (EDITOR NOTE: Don’t do that unless you want NSFW pictures of Don’t nether regions) and my Facebook account (Don Parsons), so feel free to add me if you haven’t already. Hope everyone enjoys our coverage next week! ~ Don

Consoles

Inversion has had its date moved around so often, I am hesitant to believe that it is coming out this week. A destructive, cover-based third-person shooter from Namco, at least it picked a few weeks after Ghost Recon and a few weeks before Spec Ops. The only other console release is Madagascar 3: The Video Game, which is obviously geared towards kids. With mini-games and a circus theme, it’s another movie tie-in that should catch your attention if you have kids (like me).

Handheld

The 3DS is finally getting the beautiful platformer, Rayman Origins. The game has been talked highly by everyone I know that has played it on one of the other consoles or devices it has appeared on. Madagascar 3: The Video Game also sees release on both the 3DS/DS and Vita.

Are you picking anything up this week? Let us know what, if so, in the comments below!
