Coming to Stores: July 10th Edition

Ah, the lull of summer. That time of year that the heat index is 110, bugs are out in full force and store shelves don’t see new titles very often. Luckily, we have not only a movie tie-in but the standard summer release of a college football game. Enjoy this time, because I just looked at the September through November release schedule and it’s complete madness… ~ Don

Please note dates are subject to change, and these do not account for digital releases, which can sometimes be as important as retail releases.

  • Tuesday, July 10 ~ Ice Age: Continental Drift – Arctic Games (Wii & X360)
  • Tuesday, July 10 ~ NCAA 13 Football 13 (PS3 & X360)

It’s that time of year again. Football fans start riling each other up, talking smack about how their college is better than everyone else’s and NCAA Football 13 comes to store shelves. As usual, you can relive the glory days of when you were in college and take your school to the National Championship (EDITOR’s NOTE: Provided your school can figure out the absurd BCS equation to get into the championship game). If real sports are’t your thing, you are in luck; Ice Age: Continental Drift – Arctic Games has you covered. Arctic Games is a collection of winter-themed.. games.., that will have you playing as some of the beloved characters from the popular movie Ice Age.

Sneaking around like a ninja? Sold.

Nintendo 3DS:

  • Tuesday, July 10 ~ Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure (3DS)
  • Tuesday, July 10 ~ Ice Age: Continental Drift – Arctic Games (DS)
I’m sure many of you are expecting an epic action-RPG from  Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure but in fact, it’s actually a rhythm game. So if Theatrhythm wasn’t enough portable rhythm goodness, here’s more to tide you over, this time an original story-based game brought to you by SEGA.

Sony Playstation Vita

I figured I would actually USE this space for something constructive. You won’t find this in stores, but Treasures of Montezuma Blitz is a freemium game that finally works the way I wanted it to. The update late last week added trophies, fixed the on-board power ups and they give rewards for winning the weekly tournaments. It’s a free match-3 game, so if you have a Vita, get it and add me on PSN- GCSobaer. Let the friendly competition commence!
