Coming to Stores: April 17th Edition

We’re back! Well, kind of. As you can see, there isn’t a lot.But with April being the beginning of a quarter and following the rush of games last month, it is a nice break. Things will start to pick up steam in the coming weeks, but for now, enjoy the trickle of games and catch up on those backlogs! ^_^ ~ Don

Please note dates are subject to change, and these do not account for digital releases, which can sometimes be as important as retail releases. Don’s personal picks are highlighted in red.

  • Tuesday, April 17 ~ Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat (PS3 & X360)

X360 only:

  • Tuesday, April 17 ~ The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

Combining the digital releases, Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat brings some of the greatest warriors in history in epic clashes for you to control. Play as a pirate, ninja, samurai or specific warriors like Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great and many more. (Editor’s Note: You have no idea how hard it was to not rewrite the remainder of Don’s feature as a pirate) Based on the hit TV show, this game looks to cater to both history buffs and fighting game fans alike. On the complete opposite end of the book is the X360-exclusive re-release of last years hit PC game, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Witcher 2, which won more than a few awards last year, comes out at a perfect time after last month’s Mass Effect 3.

Nintendo 3DS:

Sorry, no Nintendo releases coming to retail this week.

Sony Playstation Vita

  • Tuesday, April 17 ~ Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention

The Playstation 3 version of Disgaea 3 comes to the Vita and in usual-NIS fashion, all of the DLC will be releasing with it. Not only that but the Vita version will boast all sorts of new features, like GPS funcionality, new moves, new bosses and a lot more. Any true Disgaea fan, whether you have played Disgaea 3 or not, will not have a complete collection without it.
