Activision announced today that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has made $775 million in sales in the first five days. Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision said, “Life-to-date retail sales for the Call of Duty franchise have exceeded $6 billion worldwide, which makes Call of Duty one of the most valuable entertainment properties in the world.”
According to Microsoft, more than 7 million multiplayer hours were logged by the end of the launch day. The game also set a record with concurrent players on Xbox Live topping at 3.3 million on November 8.
Success was never an issue with the series. Call of Duty is practically the new Madden; it’s on everyone list.
