PSP Games Ported to PS Vita for a Price

Sony announced that their upcoming portable handheld, the PlayStation Vita will be able to play some PSP games via their UMD Passport program. In Japan, PS Vita owners will be able to download a free application where they can register their UMD games and recieve a discount on repurchases of the game registered through Vita’s digital distribution service.

Repurchase prices vary but the average seems to be around ¥800 and ¥1000($6 to $13). Full details can be found on the Sony Japan’s website. No word yet if the program will arrive in North America and Europe as well but, do you think this is a fair shake?

Would you be willing to repurchase the games you already own for your PSP to make them compatible with the new hardware from Sony?
