Producer of Final Fantasy XIII-2, Yoshinori Kitase recently had a chance to sit down with Dengeki PlayStation to outline the developer’s initial plans for DLC for FFXIII-2. Even thought nothing has been finalized, players should look forward to one to two updates a month.
He promises DLC will be substantial with items, clothes, monsters, and special battles up for grabs. Although, he couldn’t speak about the pricing structure, he promises that they will strike a good balance between price and the quality of content.
After the interview, Kitase and director Motomu Toriyama showcased the ‘Summon Raid’ and ‘Syncho Drive Gauge’ systems – names subject to change in the North American version. The Summon Raid system is designed to allow players to capture the enemies they fight and in turn use them in battle. The Syncho Drive Gauge system is a special meter these monsters build up during a battle and when it fills up, it enables them to unleash a powerful attack.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is still on track to release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America on January 31, 2012, and in the UK on February 3, 2012.
