For the past month, there have been rumors of Nintendo revising the 3DS hardware or releasing a product that would alter it’s functionality. Today, Famitsu outed an analog stick 3DS peripheral as part of their report on Monster Hunter 3G. The 3DS fits inside the attachment and it adds a second analog stick to the right side of the device as well as, adding a second button dubbed R2.
As of right now the only game supporting this attachment will be Monster Hunter with an expected release date of Winter 2012 in Japan. The peripheral has not received a ship date yet but, stay tuned while more information comes out about this new attachment.
What are your initial impressions? Do you think this is Nintendo’s answer to utilizing 3D on the 3DS more effectively?
