February of next year, we will be able to see the fruits of Curt Shilling’s Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, a fantasy RPG courtesy of 38 Studios. For a long time, the only thing we’ve heard about the game were the minds behind it — including R.A. Salvatore who crafted the universe of the game. It wasn’t until recently that media and fans alike had a chance to see what the game is all about.
Reckoning is an action RPG sporting visual stunning combat and environments, an immersive fantasy setting, and awesome kill shots to boot. Promising that the single player adventure spans five unique regions, four playable races, and an incredibly deep ability system that adapts to your playing style, Curt Schilling, Chairman and Founder of 38 Studios, had this to say about the announcement of the release date:
“Reckoning is just the beginning of the deep, expansive lore and massive world that is Amalur. We’re working with iconic visionaries who have trailblazed the direction of their respective fields. Todd McFarlane lends his expertise to inspire the game’s bold art style and combat design, R.A. Salvatore created the deep, immersive history and culture of the world, and industry-icon Ken Rolston forges the expansive systems that RPG fans know and love. Reckoning has developed into something amazing and beyond my wildest dreams — I cannot wait to share it with gamers across the world next February.”
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be available February 7, 2012 in North America and Febuary 10, 2012 for Europe. The game will release on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
