25th Anniversary of The Legend of Zelda Includes Community Activities

Out of Redmond, WA, Nintendo announced new community activities to help celebrate 25 years of Zelda. Owners of the DSi and DSi XL can download Flipnote Studio off the Dsi Ware service and create flipnotes — or short animations — using one of the three templates with music from the Legend of Zelda series. The best Zelda-themed flipnotes will be evaluated by key Nintendo developers, who have worked on the series of the years, including Shigeru Miyamoto, Takashi Tezuka, Eiji Aonuma and Yoshiaki Koizumi. The most liked ones will also be put on display on the Zelda Anniversary Website.

Entries can be entered starting 3:01 a.m. PST Monday, August 8 and continue until Friday, September 9 at 11:59 PM — the winners announced sometime around mid October.

Nintendo also took the time to reiterate that Skyward Sword for the Wii is still launching later this year, as well as providing The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords as a free gift to fans for both DSi and the 3DS.
