CD Projeckt Red announced today that the Xbox 360 adaptation of The Witcher 2 will be delayed until the first quarter of 2012. They state that their current legal battle over publishing rights with Namco and THQ played a part in the decision to push the launch back. The developer notes that even with the set back it allows them to further polish and fine tune the game, as they’ve made abundantly clear that this version is definitely not a simple port. Studio head, Adam Kicinski, had this to say,
“As the launch of the game approaches, we will be sharing more details how it will be released on Xbox 360. I trust that despite the release date shift, players will be satisfied with what we are planning for them,”
We had a chance to cover the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 at E3 earlier this year.
