Sony seems to be getting a handle on the indie scene, even going so far as to provide development kits to independent studios. According to VG247 a spokesperson for Great Little War developer, Icon Games, posed on the Neogaf forums saying Sony “has a good attitude towards gamers” and that “Unlike Nintendo, Sony now ‘get it.'”
We showed them our game, they liked it loads and thought it a good fit for their machine, so they sent us four kits. Gratis. Just like that.
Seemingly impressed with the situation Rubicon also mentioned that the handheld was everything you’d like it to be and that Sony is making a serious push at getting indies developing for the PS Vita. The result, they hope, is that their store should fill up similar to the iOS market.
We already know Sony is committed in assisting indie development and providing kits seems to be a another step in the right direction. It looks like we’ll have a fairly robust store with indie games along with downloadable titles. Does this make you more likely to buy a PS Vita?
